Nirvana's one-time maintenance fee and trust fund

A common worry is who will look after the niche in 30 or 50 years. Here is what Nirvana says.

Nirvana Memorial Garden charges a one-time, perpetual maintenance fee for niches and tablets, with no yearly bills. According to its 2025 booklet, 75% of that fee goes into a trust fund and 25% is kept as current maintenance reserves. Precepts Trustee Limited is the trustee, and the fund's accounts are audited every year.

How the fee is split

  • 75% to the Nirvana Trust Fund, set up in August 2012.
  • 25% as current maintenance reserves.

Who looks after the fund

Precepts Trustee Limited is appointed as trustee and acts as an ombudsman, so the money is used only for its stated purpose. Certified accountants audit the fund's financial statements every year.

And the land lease?

Nirvana says its land lease was extended in June 2016 from 2029 to 2098.

Details below come from Nirvana Memorial Garden's 2025 booklet and its official website. Benjamin will confirm anything that may have changed.
